    is a fast-casual restaurant concept specializing in made-to-order chargrilled
    burgers,sandwiches and more. These iconic KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and
    The Habit Burger Grill brands delight millions of customers daily with their
    craveable food and memorable experiences.

Customer Challenge:

  1. Yum group was looking for a fully-managed Backup service/tool that makes
    it easy to centralize and automate data protection across all his different
    Servers for different applications in AWS cloud.

  2. So that we can configure backup policies and monitor activity for your AWS
    resources in one place.

  3. We have recommended implementing AWS Backup service to meet customer
    expectations.

  4. Customers are also looking for durable storage solutions where they can
    store their log reports, and cloud watch logs.

  5. Customers are looking for shared file storage for use with their servers in the
    AWS Cloud . AS SAP applications require shared file access so that he can use
    the File system for reliable file storage delivering high aggregate throughput.

Partner Solution

  1. AWS Backup is a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the backing up of data across AWS services. With AWS Backup, we can create backup policies called backup plans. We used these plans to define backup requirements, such as how frequently to back up your data and how long to retain those backups.

  2. We prepared AWS Backup jobs to take daily backup snapshot based.

  3. We are retaining the backed up snapshots for 7 days via life cycle management policy.

  4. We are using AWS Cloudformation to create the infrastructure in AWS. Cloud formations are stored in AWS S3.

  5. We have created Backup plans composed of one or more backup rules and then setting The backup frequency determines how often AWS Backup creates a snapshot backup.

  6. We also created Backup windows consisting of the time that the backup window begins and the duration of the window in hours. Backup jobs are started within this window.

  7. Defined the lifecycle when a backup is transitioned to cold storage and when it expires. AWS Backup transitions and expires backups automatically according to the lifecycle that you define.

  8. Configured a backup vault is a container to organize your backups in. Backups created by a backup rule are organized in the backup vault that you specify in the backup rule.

  9. So that we can create a full VM as per RPO & RTO policy from the last backed up AMI and with Cloudformation.

  • Data is protected as backups with 99.999999999% data durability. Copies of all data uploaded to Amazon S3 are created and stored across at least three devices in a single
    AWS Region. Even when following best practices, on-premises capabilities cannot match AWS’ durability due to our global scale and security.

  • AWS Backup supports a wide range of operating systems and applications, including Windows, Linux, MacOS, and popular databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.

  • AWS Backup offers greater scalability and better integration with other AWS services.
